Youth Summer Program

ConnCAT remains a place of productivity and positive energy for youth during the summer months. Through our signature summer immersion, middle and high school youth from the Greater New Haven area are exposed to the artists, social context, and political issues surrounding a defining era in American history.

During this 6-week program, youth:

  • Use arts as a medium to develop and express their ideas, concerns, and passions about the world, and work in partnership with local artists to create original art
  • Experiment with diverse creative media, including: photography, digital media, music appreciation, spoken word, dance, and drama
  • Explore the key happenings and themes of an era; in particular, the idea of art as a driver for collective consciousness, social development, and community activism.

Program sessions are typically held on weekdays, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at ConnCAT.
