ConnCAT’s Phlebotomy program is designed to fulfill the market demand for trained phlebotomists. The program focuses on proper collection and handling of specimens submitted for analysis, which is essential for quality
laboratory results.
ConnCAT Phlebotomy students will learn vital skills in correct patient preparation, specimen collection, and specimen packaging and transportation.
Graduates of the Phlebotomy Technician program will qualify to sit for the National Phlebotomy Association certification exam.
Graduates will have the skills necessary to obtain positions in various healthcare settings, including laboratories and inpatient/outpatient hospitals and facilities.

Externship schedule determined by extern site
Externships allow ConnCAT students to demonstrate their skills and perform tasks practiced during didactic training in real health care environments and to function as a phlebotomist trainee. It is important to us that externship experiences are are mutually beneficial. Thus externship sites can expect professionalism and productivity from
ConnCAT externs.
Upon successful completion of the didactic training, students will complete a
4-week, 160-hour externship as a phlebotomist trainee.
