ConnCAT’s Phlebotomy program is designed to fulfill the market demand for trained phlebotomists. The program focuses on proper collection and handling of specimens submitted for analysis, which is essential for quality 

laboratory results.

Graduates will have the skills necessary to obtain positions in various healthcare settings, including laboratories and inpatient/outpatient hospitals and facilities.

Course Length

  •  1 week   Phlebotomy Academy
  • 4 months  Classroom Instruction
  • 160 hours  Externship 

Class Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Externship schedule determined by extern site

  •  Anatomy and Physiology
  • Mathematics
  • Phlebotomy/Specimen Collection Techniques
  • Phlebotomy/Specimen Collection Procedures
  • Externship Training
    (coursework will also include: keyboard, computers, word processing, communications, professional development and financial literacy)


    This is a SNAP approved program offered at no cost to participants

Externships allow ConnCAT students to demonstrate their skills and perform tasks practiced during didactic training in real health care environments and to function as a phlebotomist trainee. It is important to us that externship experiences are are mutually beneficial. Thus externship sites can expect professionalism and productivity from 

ConnCAT externs. 


Upon successful completion of the didactic training, students will complete a 

4-week, 160-hour externship as a phlebotomist trainee.
